On this Fourth Sunday of Advent, the word is persist. Perhaps today is a good time to review how we experienced Advent. Were we able to persist in making time for Advent observances whether it be attending church, lightening the Advent wreath, reading a daily reflection or some other discipline? Have we persisted in viewing this time as a birthing season and taken care of ourselves instead of rushing around? Are we sharing with others and giving freely even when their persistence becomes an annoyance? Let's persist in our preparations for the Christ child allowing ourselves to receive the gifts of love, joy, peace and hope offered freely to us.
