Prune

When I think of prunes, I think of a fruit that I do not like.  Some of you might not like the word prune because it means trimming your trees.  Regardless of whether you like or dislike the noun or verb forms of prune,  God prunes us.  She does not ask if we enjoy it but rather seeks to purify souls of evil thoughts.  As God gets rid of the deadwood in our souls, we often  become aware of habits that no longer serve us.  This Advent as we move away from compartmentalizing and allow the dark and the light to interact within our souls, let us ask ourselves, what habits do we need to shed so that there might be additional room in our lives for God?

Visit http://www.quadratos.com/ and https://www.missionalwisdom.com/ to explore the interplay between light and dark further. (These ideas are not 100% original but rather grow out of the Advent reflections and videos individuals from these organizations are exploring and fleshing out during Advent.
